Tooth Care
Cory the Clown and Leonard the Lion. Cory shows Leonard the
proper way to brush his teeth.
It's important to take care of your teeth. You will need them for
a long time.
Teeth are made of calcium. You get a cavity when the food
particles in between your teeth start to decay (go bad). The bacteria
(little living organisms) eat the food for nourishment and excrete
acid as a waste product. The acid eats into the tooth, and a cavity
is formed.
Clean teeth mean less cavities. Brush after every meal in round
circular motions. Angle your brush near the gum, from the top down
for the top teeth, and angle your brush near the gum, from the bottom
up, for the bottom teeth. Brush each section for at least five
seconds. Spit out the toothpaste and rinse with water.
Fun facts: Kids have 20 teeth. Grownups have at least 28 teeth --
most also have four wisdom teeth for a total of 32 teeth.
